You can't claim to be listening to Albertans' "legitimate grievances" if you're only choosing to listen to a minority of Albertans. That's just a fancy way of saying we should coddle the separatists while demanding the federalists take it on the chin.

And any emotion or empathy I display on behalf of the Albertan majority is treated as me being a "flamethrower." And any critique I level at nonsensical separatist claims no matter how grounded in reality is "fearmongering" "oppression" or "demonization." You've set up an asymmetry of civility. One in which only one side gets to throw punches; the other can only take them. It's a losing frame.
