There it is. This is the payoff for the Harry Potter doomer LARP. Anthropic & OpenAI need to go public or the entire industry dies. The strategy: Push the competition out of business through regulatory capture of the market. Subsidize it through government assistance/bailouts. The truth is that the financials of both these companies—and SpaceX—are the real apocalypse. Dario & Sam’s hail mary is to convince the world they have something that will kill everyone unless they are allowed to be the only ones to build it. This is a goddamned confession. This industry is a doomer cult run by amoral conmen. Both these companies need to be shut down so adults can figure this out.
