This is a good example of why I think so much of the left’s anti-Israel stuff is structurally anti-Semitic by the left’s own reasoning. Whatever you think of Mamdani’s claim about how Israel is constituted, if this guy actually had these standards he wouldn’t “recognize” or “be comfortable” recognizing a bunch of other countries which are far more obvious violators of the standards he is claiming to apply to Israel. But these supposed standards are virtually never applied to any country but this one country that happens to be Jewish. Does this guy not “recognize” Saudi Arabia? Qatar? Pakistan? China? Nope they’re all fine. But the Joooz with their tiny little country whose existence insults the egos of its neighbors is a violator of his standards.
