As a political economist, I do think that a weak Russia, torn by multiple competing factions, with nuclear warheads under contested control is less - repeat, less - dangerous than the Putin's Russia with nuclear warheads under the tight control of irresponsible, short-sighted dictator. The danger of "Russia's uncontrolled break up" is a myth; it's a manageable risk. The danger of Putin continuing its war against Ukraine and Europe is an acute danger. The focus must be on defeating the Putin's regime; what comes next is important, but not nearly as important as stopping the war - that is, defeating the Putin's regime.
