Whenever I visit Wilcannia, every passing car fills my heart with joy as they greet me with a warm 'Hi Sister Girl'. This gets yelled by tough Barkandji Men, some of the toughest men I have ever met. The first people to accept me as a woman were the Aboriginal Inmates that I managed when I came out as a trans prison boss.
