First of all, @rulajebreal claims it's been the "only" peace plan on the table, which is a lie. The Palestinians rejected repeated Israeli peace offers over the years, because they refuse to compromise. Also, the actual war is with Hamas and Hezbollah. They're not the ones offering the Saudi Peace Initiatve, so how does it help? Even making whole swaths of land Judenrein for the Saudis wouldn't satisfy Hamas, who invaded 1948 Israel on Oct. 7, not the "occupied territories." The Saudi plan takes the "moderate" Palestinian position, which is not just "ending the occupation." It's also kicking all Jews out of the new Palestinian state. It's also forcing Israel to accept large numbers of migrants whose great-grandparents may have lived in Haifa or Safed at some point, so that 1948 Israel would no longer have a Jewish majority. That's not a two-state solution, that's "from the river to the sea" in a prettier package. Add to that the fact that this is supposed to be a done deal and not a negotiation where Israel can say, "we want peace but we also want access to our holy sites in Jerusalem, so maybe let's reach a compromise here." @ScottJenningsKY
