In response to the accusation that Netanyahu fired Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar because some of his advisers are being investigated over their ties to Qatar, Netanyahu released a video making the argument that the investigation was meant to prevent him from firing Bar. The evidence is circumstantial either way, but Netanyahu said he waited until after the Shin Bet released its Oct. 7 report to fire Bar, as he did w the IDF COS. He showed a letter in which Bar asked to postpone the report’s release. Then points out that Bar didn’t release the report that day - but an investigation into his aides was announced that day. That being said, it was the attorney general (also on this government’s chopping block), rather than Bar, who announced the investigation.
