This seems to be right as a generalization. But as someone whose husband has done 100s of days of reserve duty and has small children — The only reason this is worth doing is to bring the hostages home. Not miluim families. It would be better for us if Israel fought to the end of the war. This is short term gain for more suffering in the long term. Hamas won’t surrender after a 60 day ceasefire that will only give them time to rearm and hoard more humanitarian aid, which means this whole war will continue to be drawn out over months, and we (and 10,000s others) will continue to live with this cloud over us of knowing our husband/father in mortal danger.
