For those not in DC, just an observation on how colossally screwed up the America 250 celebration is. Whatever the opposite of freedom is, this is it. The National Mall and other previously public areas nearby are a bewildering maze of walls, fences, and restrictions that stop any access except thru a few secured entrances. Once you get on there's a bizarre ersatz "America's state fair" that mixes lame state tourism materials with pro-Trump displays. While you're wandering through the blazing heat trying to figure out how to access what should be areas open to the public, you are repeatedly blasted by deafening flyovers from military jets, signaling America's desire to intimidate the world through armed force. Happy 250th! We'll get through it...
