“We must be prepared for a protracted conflict,” - US Under Secretary of Defense Colby. Of course, we all want this war to end much sooner. But hoping for peace and preparing for reality are two different things. Russia is preparing for a long war. Ukraine and its partners must be prepared for that possibility too, while doing everything possible to make sure it doesn’t last that long.
