I am glad some hostages got released and reunited with their families but the history is clear that released terrorists kill more people than are saved in hostage for terrorists exchanges, far more. I grieve for those parents whose children will be lost in the future. Those released by Hamas are just concert goers not convicted criminals and ultimately this deal rewards hostage taking as a tactic by releasing almost 2000 terrorists who between them will surely kill more than 33 Israelis. (And take a new round of hostages). Netanyahu held out as long as he could and is at least getting the weapons he needs. This temporary ceasefire is being spun inside Gaza not as a surrender but as a victory for them, and Hamas is coming back out to establish its control with the “civilians” back in uniform. If this helps get a Saudi-Israel deal then this will have been of value but I hope we will see from here on Trump team renewed strength against Iran, the Houthis and Hamas to end the threat of terrorism and of Iran nuclear weapons. And no Hamas governance of Gaza must be a red line.
