This is an excellent, must read analysis of Zelensky’s sacking of Ukraine’s defence minister Fedorov. It also demonstrates why problems will persist if the ministry does not have civilian, reformist oversight by someone committed to curbing corruption. The appointment of Drapatyi is a golden opportunity for Ukraine to maximise its war-fighting potential. Yet he is missing the right partner at the top the ministry.
