People often ask me about Tel Aviv and Israel in general. Just a few observations. Many, many others. 1. It’s like Barcelona except those beautiful young men and woman on the Tel Aviv beach are prepared to fight to defend western civilization while their equivalents in Spain have decided to just party until it collapses. 2. Unique in the world as a fusion of Athens, Sparta and Jerusalem — hedonism, heroism and faith. 3. Ranked fifth happiest country on earth and second for people under the age of 30. How is that possible for a country constantly in wars? I think: Family, community, patriotism, ancient traditions for even the most modern and secular, and a love of life that perhaps only those who could lose it on the next street corner to terrorism or in the next war to Iran could have.
