I stand with Olha Kharlan, against the oligarch Alisher Usmanov and the International Fencing Federation (FIE). I was a varsity fencer. We customarily saluted our opponents by raising or sometimes tapping foils. I don’t remember shaking hands. The FIE is overtly anti-Ukrainian.
