This is a rare public example of a palestinian (Gaza Strip) child (16-17 y.o.) openly acknowledged as taking part in combat activities. Usually, such details are deliberately concealed by Gaza residents due to their sensitivity. In this Facebook mourning post, I highlighted key phrases that clearly refer to Abdullah Abu Salama as a militant, alongside accurate English translations (in addition to Facebook’s auto-translation): al-batal - Heroic (martyr) istushhida al-yawm muqbilan ghayr mudbiran - He was martyred advancing and not retreating yashhad lahu maydan al-jihad raghma sughr sinnihi - He was known in the field of jihad despite his young age All of these phrases are not unique. They are repetitive and are commonly used to describe other killed combatants.
