Yesterday, reports emerged about the elimination of Saeed Amin Abu Hassanein in Deir al-Balah. Following the identification, announcements began circulating about the death of a journalist from Al-Aqsa Radio. Today, Hamas’s GMO officially listed him as another journalist killed in Gaza during the war. A closer look at mourning posts brings a few more details. Multiple posts describe him as a mujahid, fighter, heroic martyr, and lion, even explicitly mentioning his participation in the events of October 7 (the great crossing) Another notable detail concerns his actual role at the radio station. One of his cousins clearly states in a post that he was an engineer at the station - not a journalist. I found a few more posts referring to him with this engineer title rather than a journalism role. I’ve highlighted the relevant posts with the key terms.
