It is 100% appropriate for the press to focus on this rather odd relationship. Because he’s the president. And anyone with such extraordinary influence over and access to the president is a story. Such fanatical devotion to a single person in a democracy is actually quite odd. I’ve lived in the Middle East and I’ve seen this with dictatorships, as I’ve walked through palaces. And seen the devoted sycophants. But not as much here in the US. So it’s a story. As long as it’s covered fairly, I have no problem with it. It’s actually very interesting.
