On Oct 6: 81.5% of Gazans were living in poverty 47% unemployed (62.3% of youth) 71% screened positive for depression 91% of children had PTSD 22,000 orphans 36,142 protesters wounded by Israel in 2018/19 2,000 amputees $1.6 billion in economic losses annually from Israel's siege alone (half the size of Gaza's entire GDP) A 20 year-old Gazan had survived 4 Israeli wars & 12 military assaults Most Gazans had never stepped a foot outside this giant "open air prison" (as UK PM David Cameron called it) An entire people forsaken, caged, impoverished, traumatised, periodically massacred, made futureless & left to languish & die in the "biggest concentration camp ever created on earth" (as prominent Israeli sociologist Baruch Kimmerling put it). Showing a single affluent neighbourhood where only the upper class lived is dumb propaganda!

This is what Gaza looked like in October 6th. A paradise where Palestinians could chose to live in peace and prosperity. Instead, they chose to commit suicide. Destroying their own society by starting a war designed to be lost with heavy civilian casualties. The literal plan
