Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
Never Forget is more than a vow. It is a call to action — a promise to honor all those lost on September 11th by building a city worthy of their memory. Today, I was proud to sign two Executive Orders to continue that work. The first establishes September 11th as an Official Day of Remembrance and Service in New York City. The second takes important steps to strengthen our city’s operational and emergency preparedness. September 11th was the darkest day in our city’s history, but the few glimpses of light came from New Yorkers doing everything they could to help. We will mark this day with the same service towards one another — and by making sure our city is safe, no matter the crisis.
