🇩🇪 Today, @OlafScholz steps down as Chancellor of Germany. He led in a time of crisis: with war returning to Europe, economic pressure mounting, and far-right forces gaining ground. Through it all, he protected people’s livelihood, stood firm on the side of Ukraine and contributed to a united and determined response to Russia’s war, and maintained stability and predictability in Europe. From raising the minimum wage to expanding child and housing support, Scholz put the people at the heart of its agenda. And throughout, he defended democracy, challenging those who wavered in the face of extremism. Thank you, Olaf, for showing what responsible, progressive leadership looks like. @spdde
