A coalition of librarians, booksellers and authors are FIGHTING BACK against a law that Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed into law that threatens librarians with *jail time* if they make "banned books" available for children. The lawsuit accuses the new law of violating the 1st and 14th amendments. A new lawsuit filed by a broad coalition of librarians and academics is challenging Arkansas Act 372, a draconian and dystopian law that Sanders signed into law that levels penalties of up to a year in prison for any librarian caught "supplying kids with banned books." “Library workers across Arkansas are rightly concerned that the overly broad edicts of Act 372 will prevent them from serving their patrons as they have always done, by providing a wide variety of materials to fill their information needs, and perhaps more importantly, materials that allow each child to see themselves in the books in their library,” said Carol Coffey, the president of the Arkansas Library Association. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a disgrace.
