RTHM
Post-exertional malaise (PEM) can be triggered differently from person to person. For some, it may be brought on by physical activity. For others, cognitive exertion, time on screens, sound, light, or other sensory input can be enough to cause a crash. Dr. Jennifer Curtin discusses why PEM treatment is rarely one-size-fits-all, and why the first step during an acute crash is often rest, pacing, hydration, and reducing sensory triggers rather than trying something new. Want to learn more about PEM? On August 6th at 2pm PST/ 5PM PST, join Dr. David Putrino, Dr. Lucinda Bateman, Dr. Jennifer Curtin, and moderator Charlie McCone for a discussion on how to manage and treat post-exertional malaise, including the different types of PEM, how to navigate a crash, and interventions that may help reduce symptoms.
