Which begs the question why not use the Border Police and units who can do riot and crowd control? This has gone on for a month after the new initiative began on May 26; why put mostly conscript and reserve soldiers in this situation without the right tools. In the West Bank the IDF tried to reduce this phenomenon by doing ops at night so civilians are usually at home and soldiers trained to fight wars don’t need to confront civilians with just rifles chambered with ammo. (I know a little about this, I’ve covered night raids in the West Bank with soldiers and also a Palestinian demonstrators over the last two decades)
