Reading @vermontgmg's engaging & polemical essay on why 'AI is making everything worse' (linked). I find myself disagreeing on almost every point: on the upside potential, on water/electricity impact, but most of all the idea that "no one wants it". Anthropic's annualised revenues are $65bn, around the same as Boeing. OpenAI has 1bn active users. One in four Americans say they use AI tools daily.
