Israel announces the creation of a new corridor in Gaza, the "Morag Corridor" between Khan Younis and Rafah. This will be the third corridor in Gaza (Philadelphi along the southern border of Gaza with Egypt and the Netzarim corridor that splits Northern Gaza from central/souther Gaza near the Wadi Gaza). These corridors are strategic. Philadelphi controls the ability of Hamas to be resupplied/reinforced (men, weapons, equipment, supplies, finances) from Egypt. The Netzarim and now Morag will prevent the mutual support of military forces like Hamas in different regions as well as their freedom of movement between areas. Sepeate Northern Gaza units from Central Gaza such as Khan Yunis. Or in Rafah separate those units from Khan Yunis. Prevents operational freedom of movement. The corridors also give the IDF rapid freedom of movement to project power across Gaza as well as exert security such as in a security framework post-Hamas. Important to the continued creation (like it was in teh Netzarim) of the corridor will be the subterranean. The need to find and destroy the tunnels running under those locations. That is vital to the corridor's purpose. The comments of @netanyahu also are reminiscent of the anaconda strategy of strangling the enemy from support and the will to continue their actions. In this case to also force action - #LetThemGoNow Photo @JSchanzer https://bird.makeup/@israelipm/1907471277759279109
