We would live in a very different world. It must be unmistakably clear—to Hamas and to the world—that they lost the war they launched on October 7th. Wars of aggression, mass hostage-taking, rape, mutilation, and the slaughter of civilians—these are not acts of resistance. They are war crimes. If such acts are seen to succeed, if they are rewarded or even tolerated, they will be repeated. Not just by Hamas, but by every actor who watches and learns. The only path to peace is making clear that such barbarism will never bring political gain. Anything less guarantees a future of endless violence.
