After Mehdi Hasan got absolutely dismantled by @DouglasKMurray and @HausdorffMedia in the Munk Debate, I passed on buying his book “Win Every Argument.” I assume “whataboutism” is in there, he uses it like a shield. But here’s the truth: If you cherry-pick anonymous sources to fit your preloaded bias… If you show open ignorance of the topic you’re reporting on…If your article is so shallow it collapses under basic scrutiny…Then pointing that out isn’t deflection. It’s just calling out lazy, dishonest journalism.
