Many folks rolled their eyes when “DEMOCRACY AT RiSK” was talked about during the campaign. But here we are-legislating via executive order…. That is how dictatorships operate and every investor/biz leader I’ve spoken to this weekend says the same thing: no one wants to business with countries where you cannot trust the rule of law or long term commitments. Loss of trust will have longer term and worse consequences than market losses. So there we have short term pain & long term pain.
