Mace flips the question into an attack on herself. Instead of answering how her advocacy for abused women squares with backing Trump, she coins "rape shaming," accuses Palmeri of doing it to her, and makes the interviewer the aggressor - a classic victim/offender reversal.

Tara Palmeri: You have made advocacy for abused women deeply personal and you've remained loyal to a man who numerous women have accused of sexual misconduct. Nancy Mace: It's really ugly to rape shame a woman for her political choices. Trump has done a lot to protect women. To take my story and throw it in my face is kind of ugly. It's what I would define as rape shaming and that is disgusting. You are rape shaming me.
