Aharon Hershler was murdered in his home on January 5, 1873 when a gang of Arab robbers from Silwan raided the neighbourhood of Mishkenot Sha'ananim in Jerusalem. He was beaten and shot 12 times. He is recognized as the first victim of Arab terrorism since the Jewish resettlement in the Land of Israel. Since then 25,419 more victims of terror and fallen soldiers will have died so that we can be a free nation in our homeland. יזכור🕯️
