This clip clarifies the debate on the right. Batya, to her credit, does not hide the ball at all. She is a self described “leftist” who wants the “MAGA leftist” wing of the party to eradicate the Reagan wing one the party by jettisoning social conservatives, free traders and foreign policy hawks. Trump’s first term combined elements of the populist right with the conservative mainstream - but it was distinctly conservatives who were the senior partner in the coalition. Will his second term invert that dynamic? Or worse, will it completely forsake rank and file conservatism? And if it does, what are the consequences?
