Let me help you out buddy, because the Bedouin is here: The keffiyeh didn’t originate in “Palestine.” The black-and-white shemagh is a traditional head covering historically worn by the people of southern and central Iraq. The word “keffiyeh” comes from Kufa, a city in Iraq, and literally means “from Kufa.” It spread across the Middle East during Arab-Islamic conquests and colonial influence. Yasser Arafat hijacked it, turning it into a symbol tied to jihadists rather than culture and heritage. With what he turned it into, a religious figure like Jesus shouldn’t be wrapped in it. That’s a spit in the face of everyone who believed in Christ’s message. It’s not “Palestinian” and never was.
