Train travel will become an increasingly rare service for Ukrainians this winter. Even services to Sumy have now been suspended as Russian strikes on the rail system become too frequent for safe operation. Europe could empty its stockpiles and quintuple its air defence production - which it won't - and still struggle to meet the sheer volume of missiles and drones being hurled at Ukraine. It simply no longer has that capacity or capability. The price of inaction. And the number will be even larger next year. Ukraine's only solace is that it can strike back, and, by then, in much larger numbers. It's time for Zelenskyy to talk honestly with European politicians about this, rather than asking for a mythical talking cat with his 120 interceptors a month comments.
