“One of the things Iran has created is a society of resistance,” explained Dr. Renato Vélez Castro, a Chilean professor, in an interview with VPol in Iran. “So the people actually have a deep understanding, ideologically speaking, about what is the project of the Islamic Republic.” ￭ “That's something we” in Latin America “should learn from Iran,” Vélez Castro said, “to have a society that is politically aware, not just supporting the government out of some emotional thing or because the government gives you some things at a specific moment. So you actually believe in the project and you are willing to sacrifice to a certain degree to keep this thing going on.”
