Palestine Action Global’s Instagram account has been suspended after the US designated Palestine Action as a “Specially Designated Global Terrorist” at the end of August. Anonymous sources told VPol that, since the designation, Palestine Action has seen a surge of US applicants eager to take direct action and signing up for training on their website. ￭ Palestine Action UK was disbanded in July 2025 after Britain proscribed it as a “terrorist” organization, but chapters in other countries, such as the US, Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Germany, and Italy, have continued taking direct action against Elbit Systems and other Israeli weapons companies. The US announcement left it unclear if the new US designation applies to all Palestine Action chapters worldwide, or just the British group, which was already disbanded. ￭ The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced on August 26 the designation of UK-based direct action group Palestine Action, international Palestine advocacy organization Masar Badil, and Italy-based digital security group Autistici Inventati as "Specially Designated Global Terrorists.” ￭ The SDGT designation freezes any and all of the groups' assets within the US, and criminalizes US citizens, banks, and entities doing business or engaging in financial transactions with them, freezing them out of the US-dominated global financial system. Individuals associated with the groups could also face a lifetime ban from entering the US.
