Wheeler is a 22 year-old state legislator who has done what essentially no other Democratic elected official at any level of government has been willing to do: he investigated pediatric gender medicine, he learned about what it was and what it wasn't, and he based his judgment on how to regulate it on what we know and don't know about it rather than the mindless copypasta spread by the transgender lobby to which everyone else has outsourced their thinking. He reached the only conclusion that evidence and reason permits. He shows that it can be done by Democrats too, consistent with the opinion of a majority of Democrats. He showed intellectual integrity and moral courage on an issue where the basest conformism and cowardice was the rule.
