I agree—to an extent. I think capitalism is now a huge driver of the ASI race. But this race started not for profit, but because of the TESCREAL worldview and its techno-utopian vision of a posthuman paradise among the stars via a Machine God. :-)

The problem with AI is clearly capitalism. Top executives at these companies thinks their products could kill all of humanity but they have to relentlessly push forward because the profit motive requires it. Marx explained this entire self-destructive dynamic perfectly.
