With all due respect, you got this wrong. I never blinked. And because I didn't, whereas my PM did, I resigned. As finance minister, I did not have the authority to exit the euro. My only choice was to stay in that gvt, compromised. Or to resign. I made the right call.

@DanielaGabor This was inevitable with the adoption of the Euro. Greece can only earn Euros, it can't issue them. It is reliant on exports but has no competitive manufacturing base - so tourism it is. Varoufakis blinked first. He should have dropped the Euro and returned to the Drachma.
