NEWS The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, has issued a statement on the death of Yahya Sinwar: “Muslim nations! Brave youth of the region, the heroic fighter Commander Yahya al-Sinwar has joined his martyred companions. He was a bright face of resistance and struggle; he stood with iron resolve against the oppressive and aggressive enemy; with wisdom and courage, he struck them hard; he left an unforgettable mark on the region’s history with the blow of October 7; and then, with dignity and pride, ascended to the realm of martyrs. Someone like him, who spent his life fighting the usurping and oppressive enemy, has no fitting end other than martyrdom. His loss is indeed painful for the resistance front, but this front did not stop advancing with the martyrdom of figures such as Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, Fathi Shaqaqi, Rantisi, and Ismail Haniyeh, and it will not stop in the least with Sinwar’s martyrdom either, by God’s will. Hamas is alive and will remain alive. As always, we will remain alongside the sincere fighters; with God’s grace and assistance. I congratulate the martyrdom of our brother Yahya al-Sinwar to his family, his comrades-in-arms, and all those devoted to the struggle in the path of God, and I offer my condolences for his loss.”
