Hard for me to wrap my head around the grotesque spectacle in Gaza today, let alone find the words. Something in me broke today. My unwavering commitment to compassion and empathy, my hopeless optimism- it’s all shattered. I’m done. I shared my father’s voice and his wish and his desire for the world to see Palestinians as more than terrorists, but I’m done now. Peaceful Palestinians have proven themselves irrelevant. Peaceful Arabs have as well. As have peaceful Muslims. You all find your voice to come together to defend nurses admitting they kill Jewish patients, but you can’t come together to condemn the kidnapping of babies. Until I hear a groundswell of condemnation as loud as your support for terrorism, I won’t be playing this game any longer. I support the peaceful humans out there, of course I do. But until you can make yourselves relevant, I’ll consider you irrelevant.
